Both companies are dedicated to board games;Diset produces the worldwide commercial successParty & Co (of unknown authorship), and Jumbo has published board games throughout its history, such as the Stratego franchise (a game whose invention must be credited to Mrs. Hermance Edan, who patented it in France at the beginning of the 20th century, and which Mr. Jacques Johan Mogendorff modified and marketed in its modern form from 1947 onwards).
Chronology out “Synergies will arise because the two companies have compatible product portfolios,” explains Ferrer Riera. “The research, innovation, and development area has been concentrated in Barcelona, while the games and puzzles will be conceptualized in Zaandam, Netherlands, in coordination with the creative team based in Spain,” he adds.
JumboDiset faces the future with high growth expectations based on both its own branded products and the acquisition of new companies. The new group has an ambitious growth plan that will reach €100 million for the three-year period 2017-2019. The projected revenue for 2016 is €75 million.
